3D/4D Probes. 3D probes function the same as 2D probes, with the exception of a moving array. The array inside the probe moves in a sweeping motion and captures slices of images from different sides. The captured slices are then all put together to produce a 3D still image, or a 4D live image.

Recommended systems: GE Logiq P5 premium. Economy 4D ultrasound machines are meant to do basic 3D scans as well as basic general imaging at the lowest price possible. Probe choices (if they exist) are very limited. Almost all non-essential features are removed and hardware is shrunk to lower costs.

Our 4D products include real-time 3D ultrasound probes and matrix TEE probes (or matrix transducers). What makes the USX platform so unique is the scalability of the technology. The technology can be applied in several 4D ultrasound solutions.

This ultrasound transducer specializes in 3D/4D (or live 3D) images for abdominal, OB-GYN and musculoskeletal applications. With a frequency range of 1 - 5 MHz, this probe is compatible with the cutting-edge Logiq E9, Voluson E6 and Voluson E8 Expert.

4D ultrasound (4D US) is gaining relevance as a tracking method in radiation therapy (RT) with modern matrix array probes offering new possibilities for real-time target detection.

Abstract. 4D ultrasound (4D US) is gaining relevance as a tracking method in radiation therapy (RT) with modern matrix array probes offering new possibilities for real-time target detection.

Real-time three-dimensional (3D) ultrasound (US) has attracted much more attention in medical researches because it provides interactive feedback to help clinicians acquire high-quality images as well as timely spatial information of the scanned area and hence is necessary in intraoperative ultrasound examinations.

"Ultrasound systems can be used to determine fetal age, evaluate multiple and/or high-risk pregnancies, detect fetal and placental abnormalities, identify structural problems with the uterus, and determine ectopic pregnancies and other abnormalities," he says.

The authors report on the development, testing, and first-in-human evaluation of an electronic 4D (e4D) MR-compatible ultrasound probe that was designed for hands-free operation in a MR and linear accelerator (LINAC) environment.
